Sgt. Dunaway is a 19 year veteran of the US Air Force, the last 15 of which have been spent as a Combat Cameraman. He has covered conflicts and actions in Haiti, Africa, and Bosnia on three separate occasions in 1993, 1996, and 2002. Recently, he was in Afghanistan twice where he was selected to be the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s military photographer. He has been deployed to Iraq where he received the Bronze Star for his actions in 2005. Dunaway’s work has been published in numerous publications including Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, and National Geographic. He had the honor of placing first in the National Press Photographers Association’s Military Photographer of the Year competition. He is currently a resident of Charleston, SC with his wife and fellow combat photographer Stacy Pearsall. Andy is currently on his third deployment to Iraq, and will be for the duration of the exhibition.
